Fuenlabrada is a city with an excellent track record of raising funds (European and state). Taking into account the amount and variety of funding lines available for European cities, the City Council considered the need to hire a services company to increase its capacity to attract co-financed projects through a Framework Contract that was put out to tender in 2019.
Khora and Eptisa Engineering formalized an agreement in the form of a joint venture to address the challenges set out by the City Council in the public tender for which we were finally selected. The collaboration with Eptisa has been excellent and it provides Khora with its experience and capacity in project execution and management as well as its international trajectory.
Our proposal was based on two essential principles: focus and anticipation, which we apply to projects for which the city plans to raise funds, either by increasing its relevance, collaborating with European and Spanish cities or simply by accessing additional funds to finance large projects.
The work developed by the joint venture has already had very positive results in access to funds, participation in supra-local city networks, and the definition of a roadmap to anticipate financing lines and focus on those that are more interesting and consistent with the challenges Fuenlabrada faces.
