Talavera’s Integrated Sustainable Urban Development Strategy (EDUSI), selected in the second call of the POPE ERDF 2014-2020, aims to tackle population decline and its economic and demographic impacts by leveraging the municipality’s strategic location and its natural and cultural heritage.
THE CHALLENGE
The Talavera City Council faced difficulties in implementing the action lines of the EDUSI, due to the absence of a clear narrative and an execution model capable of addressing urban challenges and transitioning the plan into actionable projects.
THE SOLUTION
At Khora, we developed a plan to accelerate EDUSI’s implementation by conceptualizing integrated urban interventions that merge various action lines. Additionally, we energized a horizontal working team within the City Council and created a solid narrative to support all projects, grounded in integrated urban analysis and collaborative design workshops with technicians and council members to align priorities and responsibilities in a transversal way.
