Tecnológico de Monterrey, Tec Beyond Program, focused on innovation for business leaders, commissioned Khora and Madavi to organize a participatory summit in León (Guanajuato, Mexico) to co-create a vision for a sustainable future for the city and its surroundings.
THE CHALLENGE
For decades, León has prioritized economic development and job creation over the preservation of natural heritage, social inclusion, sustainable mobility, health and basic infrastructures. The city must rethink its approach to tackle these challenges and create a more balanced future.
THE SOLUTION
Together with the consulting firm Madavi, we organized a two-day summit involving 120 local leaders, utilizing the Appreciative Inquiry methodology to co-create a shared vision of León’s future. The result is a collective Action Plan, outlined in a logbook that highlights opportunities in citizen participation, circular microeconomies, health, entrepreneurship and sustainable mobility. This plan is reviewed annually to ensure ongoing progress toward the collaborative developed vision.
