Since 2019, we have been Fuenlabrada’s reference point as a funding hub to access new opportunities for attracting funds, networks, and other European or national awards, especially for projects with a markedly innovative character and that strengthen its visibility and collaboration with other cities.
THE CHALLENGE
Despite having an excellent track record in accessing European and state funds for financing its strategic projects, the city of Fuenlabrada seeks external support to enhance its capacity for attracting co-financed projects through a Framework Agreement that provides agility and flexibility to its needs.
THE SOLUTION
Our proposal focuses on two principles: focus and anticipation to increase the fundraising in city projects. To achieve good results, at Khora we are deeply committed to understanding the city and its challenges with the aim of focusing on relevant projects, fruitful collaborations and an in-depth understanding of each funding line.
The results have been positive in terms of access to funds, participation in city networks, and definition of a roadmap to align with the most pertinent funding lines for Fuenlabrada.
Projects have been successfully presented in different European lines —EUI-IA, LIFE, Co-create NEB, EaSI, CERV or Erasmus +; Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan – low emission zones, local commerce, IDAE, digitalization; or the Multiannual Financial Framework 14-20 – IDAE’s MOVES Program. Additionally, the preparation of candidatures for different capitals —European Youth Capital, European Capital of Inclusion and Diversity or 100 climate-neutral and smart cities—, support in the preparation of plans —SECAP, Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plan and Sustainable Energy—, adhesion to city networks —IURC, NetZeroCities—, the design of innovation projects, addressing dependency, and other projects such as the Global Mayors Challenge or Milan Urban Food Policy Pact.
